This artical was made for new people; to help them understand things and to help them make quality applications.

Nothing in this post is apart of the rules, you may feel free to ignore this and go on your own, but it is not advised.

Also remember that many staff members are frequently found in chat, so if you have any questions just pop in. The chatroom is also a great place to meet members and introduce yourself as well as find people to RP with.

Getting Started

The following shows you the important rule threads you should read, as well as the stuff you don't have to read until later.

The first thing you should probably read is the General Rules. In here you have the basics, no spamming, flamming, godmodding, so forth and so on. If you are an experienced forum-goer or if you're used to forum RPGs, or forums in general, you can get by with just reading the bold parts. The words after the bolded part merely explain the rule for those that do not understand.

Reguardless of your experience, I would advise at least skimming over our section on God-Modding, as it's more comprehensive then most boards.

Next, you should read the Battle System and Statistics thread. On this board, stats define us from other RPGs, even other RPGs with stats! They don't define your character here, they merely help yourself and other people understand it.

You can skip the first paragraph writen there, as the above just summed it up. The "What Stats Represent", "Compairing Stats" and "Damage" sections, while long, are one of those things you just can't avoid.

If you are an experienced RPer, you can get by the "Battle System" and the "Communicating with the Staff and other Members" with a light skim. The battle system section just tells you to list damage and jutsu you use, in addition to explaining how battles work.

The "Using Jutsu in Battle" can also be skipped if you are an experienced RPer, but it does list several common mistakes made by new members when fighting. Congradulations, you're almost done, that was the hardest part of the rules.

Next is the Reading and Making Jutsu thread. This one doens't have a lot of stuff you need unless you plan to make your own jutsu, but there are some things in here that need to be covered.

The "Definition of a Technique (also known as Jutsu)" section can just be skipped unless you're new to naruto. If you're only exposure to the Naruto series is the american anime, I'd advise reading it. "Reading the Technique List" should be skimmed over. Most people get it after the initial example, but if you need a more thorough explination it's there. The "Incrimental, Per X and Every post Jutsu" and "Jutsu "Styles"" sections should be read. The "Creating your Own Jutsu" section can be skipped unless you're making your own jutsu.

The final thread that needs reading by all new members is the Character Creation and Advancement. This details the process of making a character.

You have to read the first section at the top. As for the "S-Rank and Sennin Level Characters" section, you can't get any yet so don't bother. "Number of Characters" is four, move on. "Cannon Character" section just tells you that you can't have one.

The "Stating Stats and Jutsu" has to be read. The "Advancing your Character" isn't needed to make your character, but I would read it as soon as you can find the time. "The Rule of Natural Progression" section doesn't apply to genin, but if you're making a character above the rank of genin then you'll have to read it.

All that's left is the template, which you should copy+paste into word or similar program and make your character. The italics just describe what you need in that section and for the love of god, please remove them!

You'll obviously want to skim over the weapon list and the jutsu list, but you can do that at your liesure.

The Staff Rules are simply there to let you know that the staff won't abuse their power.

Making Your Character

The following artical will help you devolop and apply for a high-quality character, as well as tell you how to get it accepted ASAP. Note that everyone has their own way of doing things, I will only share mine.

First, I'll list some things we like to see in each of the sections. I'll, of course, not include the basic sections such as name, height, weight, ect.

Appearance: State what type of clothing your character likes to wear, you're character's build, complexion, any distinguishing features. Really, we only require a paragraph or two here, or at least I do. Some staff members preffer more detailed appearences.

Personality: A few things need to be covered here. Most importantly, what motivates your character and why they are a ninja. You're character's general outlook on life as well as how he or she relates to others should be here as well. Ideal length, in my opinion, is 3-4 paragraphs but you can get by with 1-2 unless you're going for a high rank.

History: All I can say is use logic, make sure your history is believable.

In all sections, use complete sentences and paragraphs. Good spelling and Grammer go a long way, I'd highly advise microsoft word, but any spell/grammer check helps. Avoid single blocks of text, instead use paragraphs.

Please make sure to get rid of the bloodline and the bloodline techniques sections if they do not apply to your character.

Once you fill everything out, you should post it in the sign up forum. After that, you wait. A staff member will come along and tell you what you need to change, if anything. Once an application is up to standard, the staff member will stamp it.

Please do not fight with the staff members, if you feel someone is truely mistreating you, then you can contact another staff member as a second oppinion.

Also, try to always have the last post in your application thread! If a staff member sees another staff member having the last post in your thread, the will probably think that you haven't edited your application yet. Make sure you tell us when you edit your application!
